PrenaBelt™ Research

PrenaBelt®  – Est. 2013. That's right. For every month of human pregnancy, we've spent more than one year working on PrenaBelt®  research and development!

In response to early studies published about the possible impact of sleeping position in late pregnancy on adverse pregnancy outcomes (see our Sleeping Position in Pregnancy page for more information),[1,2] we began developing and testing the PrenaBelt®  in 2013.

From 2013 to 2019, we and our collaborators tested the PrenaBelt®  in three clinical research studies, and our results were published in peer-reviewed medical journals (Accra TrialHalifax TrialAdelaide Trial).[3-5] We also presented our research findings at multiple international medical conferences. The PrenaBelt®  research studies represent over 250 research participants in their third trimester, nearly 17,000 nights of study, three university-affiliated teaching hospitals, and a dozen investigators. Since completing these studies, we have optimized the PrenaBelt®  design based on feedback from our research participants and have continued to test the optimized PrenaBelt®  in clinical research. The optimized PrenaBelt®  has also undergone testing by beta users in late pregnancy throughout North America and New Zealand.

PrenaBelt®  research is only half of the story  PrenaBelt®  development is the other half! The PrenaBelt®  is backed by a multidisciplinary team of dedicated professionals who are working around the clock to make it available for pregnancies in Canada and around the world.
